国家地理：希腊人 第一季

They were an extraordinary people born of white rock and blue sea. They invented democracy, distilled logic and reason, wrote plays to plumb the deepest recesses of the soul, and captured the perfection of the human form in athletics and art. Quite simply, the Greeks created our world.


　　Today, of course, Greece conjures very different images: civic unrest, financial meltdowns, long ATM lines. But as its ancient history attests, strife and discord are often incubators for greatness. From their beginnings as hunter-gatherers in harsh, unforgiving landscapes; to surviving the worst collapse in human history; to facing off against the greatest empire the world had ever known, the Greeks would have to overcome incredible odds to pave the way for the modern West.

国家地理出品的纪录片毕竟是品质保证，算是了解希腊历史，或者更具体的说是希腊人民主意识和自我身份认同意识起源的一部好片子。只是影片中考古和教授们的发言占的篇幅太大，反而缺少对雅典民主制的一个比较深度的分析和理解，这部分可能需要观众通过进一步阅读学术作品去了解吧。

讲的比较系统和详细了，还有动画内容的结合，对于我这个从没有关注过历史地理的人来说，看了这个对希腊发展，成型还有希腊人的思想有一定了解了。

简要介绍了希腊发展的历史，可以作为古希腊历史的入门视频。可惜的是纪录片里充斥了太多自以为是的解读，以及美国式的民主思想，国家地理用纪录片将某种意识形态过分强加给观众的行为， 可以说是很美国了。

They rose from nothing, and changed everything. 开头语震撼，不过范围还是局限在古典时期，应该叫古典希腊人。。

Dark Ages三个希腊人边喝酒边在杯子上轮流写诗简直古希腊"曲水流觞"，最后一集从雅典到斯巴达的240KM超级马拉松太刺激了，现代人到达终点处的Leonidas雕像前全都崩溃了，然而古希腊第一跑男Pheidippides到达后求援被拒，大喊了一句斯巴达人都TM是傻逼后又跑回去了。

吃惊于对于古希腊的这样一种解读。说是选择性甚至编故事可能都不冤枉。但把这当作英美的主流视角，也同样失之偏颇。这只是典型的哗众取宠的左媒腔调，如果想看严谨的学术传统，应该看耶鲁大学公开课。本片毕竟是个商业作品，图文并茂，作为放松和辅助是可以的，但切不可只看这个，否则不如不看。如本片之类的许多宣传媒体造就的只是各种扭曲的幻象。其实，也许可以说，当年正是这类的幻象，造成了雅典的自大与败亡。

纪录片辅以文献和考古、全球史，绝对算神作，但意识形态非要宣扬民主真左得不行不行，我大清自有亚细亚生产模式，没有民主了社会也照样运转，文明都有此消彼长罢了。

as史渣重新思考了一下 主流史书上所谓的黑暗时代 对世代在河流两岸生活着的芸芸众生而言 或许并非不堪 甚至是种难得的幸运

看的时候就感觉内容深度上还不如高中历史课。不过好在串联起了一部古希腊简史，希波战争、伯罗奔尼撒战争、罗马帝国的辉煌与衰败可以补充高中知识的不足。

冲浪的动画笑涩。原来马拉松是全程裸跑，奥运会的各项运动也都是全裸进行的囧。古希腊人对人体美真是尊崇至极。“认识你自己”。

I like the Greeks. And I will travel to Greece someday in the future.
